Midas Paints manufacture a full range of solutions designed to take care of all coatings requirements, from walls and floors, to waterproofing and weatherproofing, to coatings for roofs, specialist coatings for wineries and hospitals, to creative coatings for architects needing contemporary trowel-on finishes for large commercial projects. Midas R&D has created an impressive portfolio of innovative products.
The brand has produced anti-microbial additives for hospitals and wineries, spray-on coatings that are a good substitute for tiles, and coatings that can shake off pollution in CBD's. They also make paints that have radically reduced odour, to minimise downtime in redec situations in the leisure / commercial industry. Much of this product development has been in response to need, where contractors and architects. Midas Paints has been supplying specialist paint solutions to the trade since 1989. The company, founded on a family business spanning three generations, has leveraged its strong collaborative relationships with the construction industry in the Western Cape, creating specialist solutions for architects and contractors.

With taupe, stone, grey and white currently defining the colour palette of the urban landscape, we admired how Allan Gray departed from convention in deciding to use blue. Their Cape Town offices are located at the V&A Waterfront. Next to the sea, blues look fresh and confident but they’re seldom recommended by specifiers since the blue pigments in paint tend to be unstable and can be prone to fading fast.

Midas Earthcote has undertaken to reduce the effect that our coatings have on both indoor and outdoor air quality. We have done this by reducing the VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) content of our paint – now available to consumers as ENVIROLITE.
Environmental Status Report
All Freeworld Coatings products are tested at various stages of production for compliance with health and safety regulation in the country of manufacture. Similar compliance is upheld in information contained on product packaging and labelling, including consumer and application safety guidelines.
